Data science is a field that helps to find vast information from raw data sets. It answers all unknown questions that are unanswered to date, based on data behavior. What is data analytics?

Data analytics refer to the analysis of the data sets by performing professional statistical analysis. Data analysts look for various methods to capture, process, and organize data to reveal unique solutions to prevailing problems and present the data in the best way possible. 

Like data science, data analytics also tries to find solutions to the questions we don’t have the answers to yet. It produces results that are meant to show conveniently immediate improvements. Data analytics uses broader statistics to deliver the results by combining vast data sources and locating connections for simplifying the results.

The difference between the two

Since the similarities between the two fields are quite concerning, the terms are widely-used interchangeably. But data science and data analytics are two different occupations with major scope. 

Data scientists mine data from large data sets. Data analytics software are considered to be even a larger and more focused version of this. The software develop data results of existing queries which have more immediate application than data science.

Another difference between the two fields is how much data science and data analytics explore in its studies. Data science is more concerned about meeting specific queries than giving insights by analyzing data through large datasets with raw and unstructured data. Data analysis works better if the data is previously existing. The questions are answered based on these existing data. 

The insights produced by data science are much broader which ideally concentrates on the questions that should be asked. In contrast, data analytics explores the answers to the questions that are or have been raised previously based on the datasets. Data science, like any other science, focuses on asking new questions than finding answers. It establishes potential trends of the future based on previous trends.
